[Visual] Arcana IV - memento mori (it's still the 5th somewhere)
[March fifth. Graduation Day.
Minato has been scarce since the start of the month, even more quiet and withdrawn than normal. It isn't really characteristic of him, since he's usually on the go, always doing something. Finally he's been missing all day on March fifth.
The last day of his life.
With everything that's happened, he can't escape thinking about it. He's never been very good at dealing with his own troubles. He tends to shut down when he can't escape.
It's late at night, and the video opens to his cobalt blue dragonfly making distinctly worried kazoo noises. The last time this dragonfly made a video, Minato was sick and passed out in the woods. This time when it gets its jeweled eyes out of the way, Minato can be seen awake, but staring blankly at the sky. It's still cold, and he's underdressed for the snow he's laying in. He's been like this for a while if the dragonfly is resorting to using the orbs.]

A future, huh... It's still lonely as hell. [There's a very good reason he can see himself in Seito. It's showing right now. That aching space his friends once filled. The gnawing gap left by being away from his purpose as the seal. As much as he cares for his friends here, there may not be enough to sustain him.
The last thing he wants is to go back to apathy. He's so damn scared of that...]

[Action]
[He wasn't completely forgotten, no. He still had his bonds outside the team's activities. But what really brought them together? The time that made SEES his family? He was the only one who remembered all of that.]
I hear their voices constantly, you know... Cheering me on, helping maintain my Universe. I get so scared that they'll start falling silent. Especially SEES.... They're more than friends. They're the closest I've got to family.
[Action]
[He gave Minato's shoulder another squeeze.]
You're not forgotten, kid. If they still look for you, still call out to you, they still know you're there.
[Action]
...Souzen came by earlier.
[Action]
...why?
[Action]
[Something that might be dangerous. First law of sci-fi is to not mess with the time-space continuum, after all. Then again he holds the Universe in the palm of his hand, he's done stupid and impossible things before. ...If only it were just his life on the line again, then it would be easy.]
[Action]
He does that...
[Action]
[Since people here come from different times... Adachi is here, so Seito's future has already happened. It's set. He just hasn't caught up to it yet. But Minako's world isn't Minato's. Maybe her future hasn't happened yet.]
[Action]
[He made a face; shit like this was complicated. And wait a sec.]
H-hold on, you're not thinking of...?!
[Action]
[He clarifies quickly. He's accepted his fate, more or less. He is the Seal, that's his place in the universe.]
It isn't mine because it's my past without me, and that's exactly why I want to change it.
[Action]
[Seriously, just because Michael's attendant had done it to get him free, didn't mean it didn't come with it's own set of consequences. He just wished Michael wasn't such a secretive pain in the ass and actually told him stuff every now and then.]
Is it worth the risk if something goes wrong?
[Action]
[That's what this is about. Someone else not suffering through that. Minako not going through that.]
The price for failure could be the lives of everyone in that world, but....but dammit, part of the reason it was so easy to make that choice was because I thought I was the only one who'd ever need to.
[Action]
[He sat back in his seat, poking absently at his stew.]
Just because you made one choice, doesn't mean there isn't another you that didn't make that choice.
[Action]
Sacrificing myself was the easy part. It was choosing how to die, a month before that, that was hard.
[Action]
I'm not going to tell you no, kid, but... you could end up messing with things that have some serious consequences. Just... please, make sure you know what you're doing first.
