[Leaf definitely, most definitely, had steeled herself for the day. She had peeked around the realms; she had studied her dragonfly buddy; and she had spent a lot of nights just wanting to go home already. But since that obviously wasn't going to happen - and she'd been informed so - it was just... time to suck it up and talk to people, even if she might be bothering them!!

I already went to, um, Idol Springs before, but the fish there didn't really settle well with me...

Isn't it, um... The dwindling magic of Avalar that brought us here though?

If it was just this place's magic that brought me here it could have brought someone stronger. Someone who knows their magic better. Someone who isn't.. cursed. [His gaze drops, and he looks genuinely upset.] There are a lot of people who want me gone in my world. Gods, even. They've failed to kill me, so... it would make sense if they'd somehow offered me up.

[She might've been scared of him before - she might still be a little scared, honestly! - but... She can't be entirely scared of someone who looks so sad.]

I'm sorry. [She means it, too. Her tone is very genuine.] Doesn't that mean you can live a better life here? There's no one who wants you gone here, since if they did the magic wouldn't have gone through the trouble of bringing you in the first place. If the magic was just taking anyone it could reach, then there's surely a lot more people it could've chosen than just you or me or anyone who's been brought here.

[She's rambling, oh no. And saying things she shouldn't, probably.] Um. That's what I think, anyway. Y-You, um, you don't have to agree with me or anything.

Is that supposed to make me feel better? [He growls, a deep guttural dog's growl.] I'm not going to live a better life here, I don't have my magic and I've broken a contract with the last person I believed could help me! I have unfinished business at home and now if I go home I might be destroyed on the spot. Not killed - if they kill me I can be reincarnated - but destroyed. All because of who I was forced to become. And if I don't go back, I'll have no reason to keep living. Now what's the good in that, huh?
