[Leaf definitely, most definitely, had steeled herself for the day. She had peeked around the realms; she had studied her dragonfly buddy; and she had spent a lot of nights just wanting to go home already. But since that obviously wasn't going to happen - and she'd been informed so - it was just... time to suck it up and talk to people, even if she might be bothering them!!

It's not that far from here, just this way. [He beckons for her to follow and starts walking. It's by no means a particularly quick pace, though. No reason to hurry, after all.]

[She follows after him; she's happy at the pace, mostly because she can take her time looking at the scenery for herself.]

It's really pretty here... Did they really just give you a place to stay for free?

They did. The Weather Imps have been really generous--I was pretty surprised myself.

That really is nice of them... [Hmmm, though. Her tone changes a little; a bit concerned.] Green's not staying with you, is he?

[There's a long pause before he lets out a small laugh (though it sounds a little strained) and shakes his head.]

Green doesn't like me very much, I'm afraid. Are you his friend? [It's a little strange to Red though. Green didn't seem the type to really make friends.]

[Is Green her friend?

She twiddles her thumbs and sighs; it's a hard question to answer. It feels like it should be simple, but...]

I don't know. [Her voice is quiet, but not inaudible; she's just very small and very sad, right now.] We're rivals, I guess, but he's been... much nicer to me in Avalar. He's almost like a mother hen now. I guess he's always been a little protective like that, but...

I don't know. [She sighs again.] Maybe?

Since I was really young. Mom used to joke that we've been friends since we were in diapers.

[And she has a feeling if she keeps growing up with him, her mom's going to start teasing her about marrying him. Gross.]

I'm sure Green never would've kept a friend from me, and... I never saw anyone who looked like you, either. [They're not that far apart in age that she can just dismiss it as that. Another thing -- Green's fourteen here, but eleven in Kanto, so maybe it's... the same for Red. That is, it's been three years for him, too --

She sighs, more defeated than sad than before.] This is too much to think about before eating.

[He shakes his head.] We can puzzle it out later. [He climbs a short flight of stairs up to a large house and pushes open the door.] Here.

[She gapes at the house a moment - it's bigger than any she's ever seen - but shakes it off before she keeps him waiting too long. Up the stairs in twos, and she doesn't hesitate to step past the door.]

It's amazing! And it's just you and your Pokémon...

You like it? [He smiles, stepping in behind her and closing the door.

Pikachu comes zipping over to greet Leaf, "chu"-ing happily.]

I do! I wonder if Saurette'll be okay with the height... [Leaf kneels to pet Pikachu with a laugh.] It's nice to see you too, Pikachu. I missed you.
