[Leaf definitely, most definitely, had steeled herself for the day. She had peeked around the realms; she had studied her dragonfly buddy; and she had spent a lot of nights just wanting to go home already. But since that obviously wasn't going to happen - and she'd been informed so - it was just... time to suck it up and talk to people, even if she might be bothering them!!

She's visiting Colossus today, and the keenest observers will notice she's broadcasting from in front of a Spring Powerup. Okay, Leaf.

I'm a little hungry. [Three different shades of red here; that isn't how she meant to start out at all!] Um-- wait, um, what I mean was -- are there... what would you suggest is the best place to get some food? I already went to, um, Idol Springs before, but the fish there didn't really settle well with me...

[Guess who ate the red ones. And guess who's stepping back, despite the fact the image'll move with her since it's with the orb; she's just used to shrinking back --

oh, but there she goes. Orb tumbling out of her hand as she rockets right up past a wall.

[Pichu and Eevee pop up from behind Enzan's shoulders, Pichu lifting one paw up in a wave. His dragonfly is perched on his head crest, just snoozing.]

[She waves back -- Pokémon? Admittedly, Eevee's the only one she recognizes, but Pichu looks kind of like Pikachu...]

So you're an, um, a Pokémon Trainer too?

Uh... No, I'm a warlord. I'm not familiar with the term "Trainer."

[But she did know about Pokemon and her clothes were outlandish, just like Red's.]

That sounds like something out of a history book. [Um...] A Trainer is someone who, uh, trains Pokémon.

[That's not obvious at all!]

What's a warlord do?

A warlord acts as both a ruler and military leader for the kingdom they are in charge of.

[The explanation about Trainers still has him a little puzzled.]

"Trains Pokemon..." They help strengthen other's Pokemon?

[It really is something out of history.]

Um, maybe some of them, but mostly they catch Pokémon on their own and train them themselves. Or they're given Pokémon, like I was. The Professor let me have a Bulbasaur when I began, and now she's a Venasaur...

[He listens to her elaboration with full attention and mulls over the information.]

Is "catch" the term Trainers use for Linking?

I'm not sure... We use these devices called Pokéballs. [She digs around her bag for a moment, then brings one out.] The Pokémon stay in them after you catch them. It makes them a lot easier to walk around with, and they don't seem to mind it at all.

[Enzan studies the ball that is being shown to him through the orb. As he scrutinizes it he vaguely remembers something that Lord Motonari had once spoken about.]

Hmm... I've heard that people across the sea carry Pokemon in small, round objects. So this is what they look like, then.

[Pichu and Eevee both make intrigued noises.]

Um, I suppose so! I think the most amazing part of it is, no matter how big you Pokémon is, it'll fit in this little thing.

[She wants to demonstrate... and she gives the area a quick look around to make sure none of the monks are about before she lets her Venasaur out and shows him on the orb.]

[Okay, that was a surprise.]

Whoa...

This is Saurette. I've had her a while now. [She hugs the Vaunsaur's head a head; one of her most trusted friends, for sure.] Professor Oak entrusted her to me when I started my journey. She's very serious, but she's the sweetest creature I've ever met.

[But...]

She's really big, so a lot of the locals get spooked the first time they see her, so I can't really walk around with her.

She looks really strong, too.

You're the second person I've met who has a Pokemon like that.

[Leaf blushes at the praise for her Pokémon; she's always happy to hear her team looks strong, because that means she's training them properly.]

Really? [She pats her Venasaur, brow furrowing.] It's supposed to be a hard-to-find Pokémon... although I guess I've seen other people with it, too, in Kanto...

[Just like his Eevee then. Kanto catches his interest and he wants to ask about it when he suddenly remembers he hasn't introduced himself or his Pokemon.]

Ah, I just remembered I haven't introduced myself. I'm Enzan, Lord of Aurora. These two are Pichu and Eevee, my partners.

It's an honor to meet you, Lord Enzan. [Mmm...] You've already met Saurette, my Venasaur, [she pats her fondly], and um... My name's Leaf. I'm a trainer from Pallet Town.
