[The face that comes into focus on the orb is that of a teenage girl with brown eyes, matching hair, and a really big hat. You probably haven't seen her before, but she doesn't seem like a new arrival — she is quite dry, for one thing, and in the place an expression of panic or confusion is a casual grin. She waves cheerfully in greeting.]

Hey, everyone! Lovely weather today, huh? [She asks, as if there's ever not lovely weather in the Summer Forest.] I've been exploring a bit, and I've gotta say, this doesn't seem like a bad place at all! I could definitely get used to it. [It's not like she had a whole lot left to aspire to back home anyway.] Before I talk all your ears off, though, that brings me to my question! I've been wondering...

[She leans back, holding her arms behind her head, still smiling as if she hasn't a care in the world.]

What do you guys do for fun around here?

[Yeah, that's it. Really, she's used to just training with her Pokémon whenever she's got time to spare. ~~That or throwing away her hard-earned money at the Game Corner, but we don't talk about that.~~]

[My, what a big hat. She sounds like she hasn't been around long, but definitely looks more dry than how he had been upon arrival. Hey, not a bad thing.]

Exploring this place is still my idea of fun, but you've already got that covered. Checking out this thing once in a while's been fun, though.

[Oh hi, Red. Lyra doesn't appear to consider the sudden change in hair color worth questioning; considering what this place is like, it seems safe to assume A Wizard Did It or something. So she still thinks this is the Red she knows, though she does note that he sounds a bit more... animated than usual.]

Huh, you don't say? Guess I'll keep a closer eye on it, then. [She laughs lightly.] You're right, though, I've still got plenty of sights to see! And it's kinda refreshing not having wild Pokémon jump out at me every five steps.

[A dude's got to treat himself to a makeover once in a while, of course. Also, Wizards. Her answer makes Red grin.]

Hahaha. It's a little strange too, but the weather's stranger for me. Too long around snow and you forget what a sun feels like.

[But he doesn't wait for any comment on that, continuing-] But if you're a trainer and you're looking for something to do, there's some other trainers 'round here too. We won't have to get rusty, at least.

[Sure enough, she would have given a teasing reply were she not somewhat puzzled by the following statement. "If you're a trainer"? Weird thing to say. Still, she shrugs it off and nods, smiling confidently.]

Eheh, good to hear. You know I'm always up for a challenge.

[And Red in return is a little confused, but.]

Yeah? Maybe we can make a good match. What's your name?

[Okay, that tears it. Something is definitely up here. She fixes her fellow Trainer with a quizzical gaze.]

Haha, very funny. You can quit messing with me now, Red. It's Lyra! Don't tell me you can't even remember my name after we've fought like twenty times!

[There's a puzzled look that stares back.]

Twenty times? I'd remember somebody that determined. [He brings the gem closer, trying to get a better look at her.] Are you sure you've got the right guy?

[She pauses, covering her mouth with one hand in a gesture of thought.]

... I don't know, are there any other Reds around here?

[Funnily enough, that's supposed to be rhetorical. Of course there's not! Riiight?]

Actually, there is.

[And he hadn't really been thinking about the other Red, but when she asks that, his expression turns to thoughtful.]

...Actually, yeah, there is. [Oh, is that it? A hand goes to his chin.] Maybe you're-- oh, here we go!

[His hand moves away from his face.] Know her?

Yup, she keeps climbing Mt. Silver to challenge me.

[...Wait, what. The Trainer that just showed up looks more like she remembers. And he seems to actually know her! But... that means there actually is two of him? Two Reds?

She doesn't say anything, but her expression quite clearly reads "????????????????????"]

Hey, Lyra. You've gotta be pretty confused, huh?

[She splutters incoherently for a couple of seconds before she gets out her response.]

Just a little...!! What's going on here? Do you have an identical twin brother I've never heard about or something?!

Nah, he's me and I'm him. Just from different worlds.

"Different worlds"...?

[Now that the initial shock is beginning to wear off a little, she looks intrigued.]

Yeah, there's me and the other Red, for starters, we come from different worlds. I apparently come from a different world than the Green who showed up here, and Leaf came from another different world. It's pretty crazy.

Huh, that's... interesting. Or, no, 'crazy' was probably the right word.

[Oh right hi Lyra.]

Oh yeah, Lyra, right? So. Red, Lyra, Lyra, Red. [He's grinning but it's interrupted from his face with a laugh.] Have fun catching up!

[Stares. Just staaaaaaaares.]

[Still chuckling, SORRY.]

Oh, I'm jealous. I haven't had anyone do that for ages. [He looks off.] Well, there was one, but I hadn't seen them for a while. Figured they gave up.

Ah, really? That's a shame. Were they any good?

They were getting better. [He nods.] They're usually the interesting ones- y'know, the ones that come back more than once or twice. They told me they came from Sinnoh. Maybe they went back there?

Yeah. As Lyra probably told you, she's been up to challenge me about twenty times now. [He chuckles.] She's persistent.

Sinnoh, huh? Could be the case. That's a pretty long way to travel... did they come specifically to challenge you or...?

Hmm, were they one of those? [He taps a finger against the side of his cheek.] I had people like that, some just came to test out the mountain. You get the odd person who gets lost trying to climb it; I got used to looking out for those kinds of people.

[His eyes lowered during that, but he looks again to Red, smiling.] I liked their Pokémon. You ever get any trainers that from way? It's exciting whenever seeing a new Pokémon you don't know, you can't just go off what you know. [His arm begins making motions at that point.] It's great.

Yeah, that's happened to me, too. Some of them hang out for a while before leaving, which is nice.

[He grins.] I don't think I've had any from Sinnoh yet, but I've had a couple pop in from Hoenn--they spent a lot of time complaining about the cold. [He snorts.]

[He snorts right back.] What do they expect on a snow mountain, right?

Some of them who make it to me don't even get to battling. I tell them to rest up with me for the night, but then they change their minds about challenging me the next day. I like the company though, you hear a lot of good stories.

[He pauses though, eyes gazing off with a smile on his face that's a... little tender.] Actually, I hoped to see a familiar face once or twice.

[You know who.]

Well, I guess it's because Hoenn's so hot, apparently.

That so? Then again, that's happened a couple times to me. Although visitors tend to be few and far between, so...

[He nods.] Yeah.

You ever thought about travelling? I sometimes did when I got the company, but... [He looks away dismissively, clearly his heart not completely into the thought. A guy not yet ready to leave that snowy mountain.

Not voluntarily, anyway.]

They are. They have it set up there that you need permission to climb it too? I mean, it's good they do. You don't want any hot-headed types to get hurt.

[He's a little hesitant, but curiosity gets the best of him.] ...Did he?

I've considered it. Never really acted much on it though.

Yeah, they made it that way on my end, too.

[... at the question, Red shakes his head sadly.]

[There's a silent moment, Red leaning back. He decides this mood isn't really worth it though, and inhales loudly after shaking his head.]

His loss. Some people don't know how good the training is up there. [A curt nod; he smiles, though it's not as straightforward as usual.] Just means he better have been doing good with his time when he gets around to challenging us again.

I help out the locals. They pay you for your time, and they're pretty easy jobs... The Monk Turtles are a little hard to babysit, but they're really energetic and fun to play with...

[...ah...]

I haven't seen you are before, so, um... I'm Leaf.

[Oh, that's right, she's going to have to make a living now, isn't she... Yeah, now that she thinks about it she's probably no longer going to be able to get by just going around beating people down and taking their money wow that sounds bad out of context—]

Nice to meet you, Leaf! I'm Lyra. [She tugs at her hat in a gesture of greeting.] And that's probably because I've only been here for a couple of days!

It's nice to meet you too, Lyra. [Leaf tips her hat forward with a smile; her hand doesn't leave its edge, just tightening subconsciously.] I'm glad you like it here... I wasn't around for it, but apparently there were some people who caused some trouble for everyone here before I arrived. Everyone else seems pretty okay though.

[Even if Leaf's wishing she knew what she could do to help with this whole problem Avalar's having.]
