[Anyone hanging around the spring area better not be standing too close, least they get splashed on. The individual that falls out of the air and into the water looked like they had been plucked from their world in the middle of a nap… or a drunken coma, as the case may be. They certainly woke up once they hit the water though, coughing and sputtering in utter confusion as they struggled to shore.]

[The person clung to the edge of the spring once he got to it, staring around blearily, as if he didn't really know what he was looking at. Finally, he ran a hand over his face as a green dragonfly fluttered down to hover around his head.]

…if Dojima-san was looking for a new way to wake me up, he sure went overboard…

[Later on, said person appears on the orbs, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. He looks really frumpy and slouched over, not to mention completely soaked.]

M-man, and here I was worried about waking up with a hang over. I guess I should have been more worried about random splash downs.

[He pauses for a moment, trying to regain some of his dignity (not that there was much there to begin with).]

Adachi Tohru, Inaba PD. Er… anyone mind filling me in on what's going on here?

Yeah, I noticed. [He rubs his neck subconsciously. The memory is enough to make him wonder if the bruises are fully healed yet.]

Though I guess it wouldn't, considering he's supposed to have one on some level if it wasn't artificial.

Yeah; even if our… roles are different from what was meant to be, Izanagi is Seito's, no matter what form it's in.

[He fell quiet at that, waiting for the question that was going to come next.]

What was meant to be? You mean...Shirogane-san's experiences.

So...what are your main Personas, if not Izanagi? Mine are Orpheus, Thanatos, and Messiah.

[He's smart enough to put together that if your way isn't the "right" way, Naoto's probably is. And given he was told about Izanami, and knows the myths well enough... Yeah, Izanagi is another big name, he kind of gets it. He knows that even for Wild Cards, there are some major, important Personas that hold more true to the individual.]

Yeah… [He blew out a breath.] There's a bunch of different realities out there, you know? It's all based on the choices we make, even something as simple as deciding what to eat or things like that. Of course, some choices can have more impact than others.

[He paused, a bit of a bitter look coming to his face.]

Working on the case, leading the Team, beating Izanami… I wasn't the one that was supposed to do that, but I did. I wasn't the one that was supposed to change and build up Social Links… it was all supposed to be the kid, under whatever name he went under. He's supposed to be Hope, not me; but things got screwed up.

[He leaves it there, and instead of answering his question, he reaches up, calling the Fool tarot card to his hand. Crushing it revealed the same Persona that Seito used, minus the pulsing red lines and malevolence. Izanagi glanced down at Minato, giving him a faint nod of acknowledgment, before returning to the sea of Adachi's soul.]

[His expression is hard to read, as always, but those words bring up a lot of different thoughts that Minato isn't sure he wants to confront just yet. There could be other worlds where someone else was on the bridge that night, someone else shared Minato's fate...

He doesn't want to think about anyone else lashing themselves to that door. He did it to spare them, it- it isn't right that any of the others should have to, just because someone decided to eat at a different goddamn restaurant. It isn't fair. Especially considering what happens after.]

...Damn...

[Looking up at Izanagi, he considers. Just one for you, and three special Personas for him? Strange...]

You had Social Links too, huh... You got the Universe Arcana, too, then. ["And you managed to use it without dying" goes unspoken.]

Universe? No; I got the World.

[Universe sounds a little too heavy for him. Besides, Izanagi-no-Okami is a gorilla for a bigger room.]

The World... [...Right. The World had come up during that...event, with Naoto and Chou.

How does the World compare to the Universe? Clearly it's lesser, somehow. But anything would be. Igor had no idea how far the Universe could extend.] ...I see.

[He stares at his hands. He knows Death amplified his abilities. Would he have gotten the World without it? Nah, he probably wouldn't have been a Wild Card at all.]

[Adachi remained quiet for a moment. The kid had it rough... and he obviously had way more power than he did, but then again he also died, while he lived -- and he's pretty sure the kid would have lived too. The Velvet Room... why couldn't Igor have done anything for this kid? The whole helping but not interfering was bullshit, especially in this case...]

[Finally, he blew out a breath.]

You okay kid?

...Yeah. Just have a lot on my mind.

[If there are worlds where you're Hope and others where you're Emptiness, are there worlds where someone else was the Appriser? Worlds where Shinjiro lived, worlds where Kirijo-san lived, worlds where Chidori lived, worlds where Junpei died, worlds where Ken died, worlds where Minato killed Ryoji, worlds where nothing happened at all because Aigis defeated Death...

All of them would be in separate universes. They'd have to be. Minato would know if they were just other planets in his, or something like that. So is Erebus a universal constant? No wonder it's so heavy.]

...I just can't help but wonder if there are worlds out there where we were happy. [No one on SEES was particularly happy, they all suffered. Even Fuuka and Junpei, who had happier pasts, didn't have things that great.

He wishes so much that he could use his power to give SEES and Ryoji the happiness they deserved.]

Probably. Not much can be done about it, though; just... do the best you can with the hand your given.

[Cold comfort, he knows; he feels the same way, and thanks whatever gods are really out there that he's not like the other versions of himself.]

[That gets a sharp exhale of a laugh from him.] Yeah, that's how it goes.

[It's a heavy subject, and... Well, you told him about your enemies. He should do the same.] Do you want to know who to look out for, too? From my time, I mean.

That would be helpful, yeah.

[It would be information that would be helpful here... and back home, all things considered.]

There are four of them. The first is Shuji Ikutsuki. [His voice is mostly level, but it's easy enough to tell Minato actually hates that man.] He was the chairman of SEES, until he betrayed and tried to kill us. You'll know him by his bad jokes.

Then there's Strega, a trio of artificial Persona-users who opposed us. The leader, Takaya, is insane. Looks kind of pale and ghostly, never wears a shirt or shoes. Jin's loyal to him, kind of a nerdy guy, carries a silver briefcase full of explosives. The third member, Chidori, is...iffy. White gothic lolita clothing. I'm not sure I'd call her an enemy, depending when she comes from, but be wary.

You won't need to worry about them back home. They're all dead.

[Adachi made a face at the mention of the bad jokes; please, not an evil Teddie, because that's all he's imagining right now. How beary pawful.]

[He shook his head, forcing himself to focus.]

So we only have to worry about them here... good to know.

[At least Teddie's puns are consistently bear-themed. Don't like seafood? They also have ground beef.]

Yeah. Ikutsuki can't summon a Persona, but he knows a lot about Personas, Shadows, and Persona-users. He's an insane scientist. Takaya is a serial murderer who was never caught, and also founded the Nyxist cult. Jin's probably in the same league. Chidori, too, though her Persona is geared for support and healing more than attack.

[There, detailed information. Minato can tell you a lot about the darker side of things in Iwatodai. It's an ugly history.]

[Adachi quickly pulled out his pad from his coat pocket, thankful for the leather case it was in -- only the edges were wet from his little dip. He jotted the information down as Minato spoke, leaving him staring at a page that had a date and time scribbled out rather roughly on it.]

So are they the only ones?

Yeah, they were all our enemies apart from Shadows. [Not mentioning Erebus, because he's pretty sure he'll feel it if that thing turns up.] Well, and Nyx, but....that's complicated.

[But it reminds him. There's another person worth mentioning.] Someone else to keep an eye out for, though...he isn't an enemy and he isn't a Persona-user, but tell me immediately if a guy named Ryoji Mochizuki shows up. Black hair, usually wearing a yellow scarf.

Hm... all right.

[Adachi scribbled that down as well, before snapping his book closed.]

In the meantime... well, I guess we can learn from each other.

Yeah. From the sounds of things your team's Personas were all from Japanese mythology? We...all had Greek. Well, except for my ultimate Persona.

I have to admit I'm curious about what you can do. Your team, too. That can wait, though, you've had a long day.

[Adachi grinned at that.]

Yeah, any time kid. We can grab Naoto and show off to each other.
