1st Summon | Video/Action

[Anyone hanging around the spring area better not be standing too close, least they get splashed on. The individual that falls out of the air and into the water looked like they had been plucked from their world in the middle of a nap… or a drunken coma, as the case may be. They certainly woke up once they hit the water though, coughing and sputtering in utter confusion as they struggled to shore.]

[The person clung to the edge of the spring once he got to it, staring around blearily, as if he didn't really know what he was looking at. Finally, he ran a hand over his face as a green dragonfly fluttered down to hover around his head.]

…if Dojima-san was looking for a new way to wake me up, he sure went overboard…

[Later on, said person appears on the orbs, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. He looks really frumpy and slouched over, not to mention completely soaked.]

M-man, and here I was worried about waking up with a hang over. I guess I should have been more worried about random splash downs.

[He pauses for a moment, trying to regain some of his dignity (not that there was much there to begin with).]

Adachi Tohru, Inaba PD. Er… anyone mind filling me in on what's going on here?

Sure. Anytime, preferably when I'm not going to need magic for a while. [Waitwaitwait Naoto mentioned something...] Though I should warn you, something else that changed between my time and yours is the method of summoning. My way's less...pleasant than breaking a card.

Hunh? What do you do?

[He draws his 'gun' from its holster, holding it in front of him thoughtfully.]

If I told you to point this at your head and fire, would you be able to pull the trigger?

[Adachi's response is immediate.]

Of course not; that's insane.

[He actually laughs at that, quietly and under his breath.] We always said it takes a certain level of crazy.

[Then he lifts the weapon to his temple...] Thanatos! [...and pulls the trigger without flinch or hesitation. He's not attacking or anything, mostly just showing off.]

[...o-oh god, no, why was he doing that?!]

W-wait, kid, don't--!

[Ohgodohshitheactully--]

[...and then there was the proverbial gorilla in the room, that being in the form of one hell of a Persona... that...]

[...that actually had a cloak made out of coffins?! WHAT THE EVER LIVING FUCK?!]

[After a moment, Adachi finally sank back in his chair, looking like he had just been through Yomi and back all over again.]

...k-kid... you're crazy...

[He lets Thanatos fade promptly, lowering the gun. Is he smirking slightly?]

That's probably true. This thing's called an Evoker. It's not a real gun, but it's enough to trick your brain into self-defense mode. Your Persona is summoned from fear and the will to defy death.

[He re-holsters it. He looks calm enough for surgery.] Any questions?

[Adachi reached up, rubbing the side of his head.]

...no; just remind me to ask Michael if he misses shooting himself in the head next time I see him.

[Sheesh; troll as a human, troll as an attendant. If they didn't have a decent relationship now, Adachi probably would have hated Michael at this point.]

[A snort.] You get used to it. Yukari - one of my teammates - had a lot of trouble with it at first. Though it sure helps with summoning in the real world, I hear your team couldn't.

[A sigh. Back to business.] There's something I need to talk to you about. Seito Souzen.

[Adachi's expression suddenly turned serious again.]

Right, the kid. I'll tell you anything you wanna know.

He didn't seem to have much control over his Persona. I've seen someone summon like that before, but... There's a lot of baggage involved. He didn't seem to be on any drugs, and he had enough control that it was attacking me rather than him.

I already understand he's the "Avatar of Emptiness" Shirogane-san mentioned. I take it he isn't an artificial Persona-user?

[He'd been all too similar to Takaya. Takaya had murdered Shinjiro and shot Junpei. He'd intended to kill Ken, too. Seito had come too close to killing Chou (and Minato himself) for his comfort.]

Did he have any accomplices? I want to know who else to look out for.

[Adachi let out a faint noise. He should have said one question at a time.]

I dunno what you mean by 'artifical', but yeah, he doesn't really have that good control of his persona outside of, 'kill anything that moves besides me'. Though like I said, he's ridiculously adaptable; Naoto-kun showed you how we summon, right? He could probably figure out that control if he tried.

As far as accomplices…

[Adachi paused, scratching the back of his head.]

Well, there's Ichijo Kou, but he wasn't so much an accomplice as a pawn. Seito-kun can be manipulative as all hell; I'm surprised he even let himself get caught already.

We were suspicious of eachother from the day we meant. Pretty sure he was watching me as closely as I was watching him for months. I slipped up once and he saw more than I'd have liked.

[He thinks it over. He could...probably learn that method, not be so reliant on his Evoker...]

Artificial Persona-users... There were three of them who opposed SEES. They couldn't control their Personas, and had to take lethal suppressant drugs to keep their Personas from killing them. Souzen reminded me of their leader...in more ways than one.

Yeah, no; I can't see Magatsu Izanagi coming close to trying to kill Seito. He's too mentally strong for that, even if he is crazy.

[They were talking about the guy that was supposed to be the hero after all.]

Yeah, I noticed. [He rubs his neck subconsciously. The memory is enough to make him wonder if the bruises are fully healed yet.]

Though I guess it wouldn't, considering he's supposed to have one on some level if it wasn't artificial.

Yeah; even if our… roles are different from what was meant to be, Izanagi is Seito's, no matter what form it's in.

[He fell quiet at that, waiting for the question that was going to come next.]

What was meant to be? You mean...Shirogane-san's experiences.

So...what are your main Personas, if not Izanagi? Mine are Orpheus, Thanatos, and Messiah.

[He's smart enough to put together that if your way isn't the "right" way, Naoto's probably is. And given he was told about Izanami, and knows the myths well enough... Yeah, Izanagi is another big name, he kind of gets it. He knows that even for Wild Cards, there are some major, important Personas that hold more true to the individual.]

Yeah… [He blew out a breath.] There's a bunch of different realities out there, you know? It's all based on the choices we make, even something as simple as deciding what to eat or things like that. Of course, some choices can have more impact than others.

[He paused, a bit of a bitter look coming to his face.]

Working on the case, leading the Team, beating Izanami… I wasn't the one that was supposed to do that, but I did. I wasn't the one that was supposed to change and build up Social Links… it was all supposed to be the kid, under whatever name he went under. He's supposed to be Hope, not me; but things got screwed up.

[He leaves it there, and instead of answering his question, he reaches up, calling the Fool tarot card to his hand. Crushing it revealed the same Persona that Seito used, minus the pulsing red lines and malevolence. Izanagi glanced down at Minato, giving him a faint nod of acknowledgment, before returning to the sea of Adachi's soul.]

[His expression is hard to read, as always, but those words bring up a lot of different thoughts that Minato isn't sure he wants to confront just yet. There could be other worlds where someone else was on the bridge that night, someone else shared Minato's fate...

He doesn't want to think about anyone else lashing themselves to that door. He did it to spare them, it- it isn't right that any of the others should have to, just because someone decided to eat at a different goddamn restaurant. It isn't fair. Especially considering what happens after.]

[Looking up at Izanagi, he considers. Just one for you, and three special Personas for him? Strange...]

You had Social Links too, huh... You got the Universe Arcana, too, then. ["And you managed to use it without dying" goes unspoken.]
